  • Gary wakes up at 6 am and immediately grabs his phone. He heads to the bathroom and starts checking out the news from the previous night. He has a laundry list of websites and emails that he reads while getting himself ready.
  • He then heads to Twitter and checks his own handle. Gary spends a little while responding to any messages he gets before moving on.
  • Gary then opens up Instagram to see what his friends are up to. This puts a smile on his face.
  • A workout follows. This lasts for between 45 minutes and an hour.
  • Gary then heads back home so that he can see his children before they head off for school. Once they leave, he heads out to his first meeting at 9 am. During the drive, he’ll often call a member of his family to have a catch-up.

Just look at how much he accomplishes in three hours. He catches up on the events of the day and maintains communication with his followers. He makes time for family, gets his body in good shape, and puts a smile on his own face.

It’s no wonder that he has so much energy for his work.

The key here is that you don’t need to emulate Gary V’s morning routine exactly.

But you need to have a routine in place that helps you to get ready for your day. This links well to Martin Coyle’s efforts to start each day with a smile.

You can have too much of a good thing. You’re passionate about your coaching work. But that doesn’t mean that your entire life should revolve around it. Allowing that to happen leads to you feeling burnt out.
